After the failure of cheapest Aakash Tablet in India, It’s now BSNL’s turn to enter into the tablet market. BSNL has launched three new tablets whose price ranges from 3250 Rs – 13,500 Rs. BSNL will bring these tablets in collaboration with Pantel- a Noida based company.
The basic model will be BSNL Penta T Pad IS701R priced around 3,250 or 65 $ a fraction more than its rival Aakash which costs around 2,500 Rs. Panta T Pad is only WiFi tablet with Android 2.3 GingerBread OS, and 1 GHz processor (ARM11 IMAP210) clubbed with 256 MB RAM. The tablet also offers HDMI port through which it can be connected to a TV. The striking feature of this tablet is that it can play HD videos of various formats.
BSNL Penta T Pad has 7“resistive touch screen with 800×600 resolution. The internal storage capacity of the tab is 2 GB which can be extended through micro SD Card. Another advantage of this tab is the front facing VGA camera which was not present in Aakash.

The other two models are Pantel –T-Pad WS 704C and T-Pad WS 802C . These do not have a branding of BSNL unlike the basic model. These two models are priced at 10,990 Rs and 13,500 Rs. Respectively. These two tablets are also available and can be booked online.
